Our knowledgeable driver-guide will take you to the historic LORAN station at the southern end of the mountain, where the puffins nest from early May to mid-August. Once you reach the summit, you’ll have a unique opportunity to observe diverse wildlife, including the adorable puffins, in their natural habitat. If you want to be on top of a mountain top and can't be bothered with the hike up, we'll drive you and tell you about the breath-taking scenery around, puffins and the LORAN station on the top. Price ISK 3.900kr. Available: May to September Duration: 1 hour Difficulty: Easy Group size: Max 19 people Two tours a day at 9 am. or 8 pm. The puffins were absolutely adorable, so cute , such a joy to watch them in they real habitat.
Sami, our guide, was truly incredible. He went above and beyond to make sure we could see them, driving us to various viewpoints and even suggesting a short trek to improve our chances. Thanks to his patience and professionalism, we managed to get some amazing pictures (see below!).
In the afternoon, we also did the zip lines with Marcel and Alex, what an incredible time! They were both so professional, entertaining, and kind. We couldn’t have asked for better guides.

Note: I was a little nervous because I’ve never gone paragliding before but it wasn’t scary at all/I felt very safe with the tandem guide.
We arrived 30 minutes early to our meeting point and thought we were going to be waiting for awhile, but our pilots were not far behind and were also early! After getting to our flight destination, the wind was not quite what we wanted so we waited for about 15 minutes for the wind to change. After taking flight, the wind was perfect and we were able to fly around, do a couple “roller coasters”, have some laughs, and get our photo shoot on! The pilots made sure that we received great photos and videos of our flight and the beautiful views around us. 10/10 would recommend and would do 1000 more times!
They were a fantastic crew who made us feel at ease. Everything was explained to us and they made my daughter feel so comfortable. The entire experience from beginning to end was flawless and SO much fun. The scenery was out of this world. We flew over the black sand beach, you could see sheep grazing on the cliff side, birds nesting in the cliffs, Dyrhólaey, the glacier on top of Katla, etc.
I highly recommend paragliding with them. Top notch crew, so easy to communicate with leading up to our flight and during, and the best way to take in all the scenery. I will be telling everyone about this place. It was the highlight of our trip.
They even showed us the ropes at controlling the parachute safely. My guide performed a few “roller coasters” during my flight and they were an absolute highlight.
It was my first ever paragliding experience and a great one at that. Book your own, your apprehension or fear will disappear at the great location. 😃
